This Thanksgiving is a special one. In my household, and many across District 16, it also coincides with the start of Hanukkah. So it is even more hectic and even more joyous than usual. Still, I wanted to take a moment to tell you how thankful I am for the opportunity to represent you in the Maryland General Assembly.
My family and I are extremely grateful for the many people and organizations who have come together to help me do the best job I can in Annapolis. That's why I am especially grateful to share the news with you that I have received an early endorsement for re-election from the Sierra Club of Maryland.
As the former Environmental Health Program Director at MomsRising.org and now as Delegate for District 16, I have worked on many state policies to create sustainable, healthy environments for our children and families. I am proud of the work we have done, including establishing an innovative wind energy program and expanding the Chesapeake Bay Restoration Fund. I am proud to be among the few legislators in Maryland to have a 100% rating from the Maryland League of Conservation Voters. (You can view their 2013 Legislative Scorecard).
When I gather around the Thanksgiving table with my family, I'll give thanks for the work we've been able to accomplish together on environmental issues. I'm also looking forward to continuing to work with you next year for a cleaner, more sustainable environment.
Please know that you can always contact me on this issue and others.
