Building a Winning Coalition…

The coalition we’re building has a vision.

We want all Marylanders to enjoy equal rights, the best possible education, safe and healthy environments, and a strong economy.

Our campaign is supported by individuals, elected officials, and community organizations that represent tens of thousands who share this vision.

Our team includes members of the Sierra Club, Montgomery County’s teachers and educators, SEIU Local 500, NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland, and MCPS Retirees. This week, Montgomery Women and Equality Maryland have joined our team. Together we will work to make our vision for Maryland a reality.

At the end of the day, politics, like policy, is about teamwork. I know the way to succeed is by building a strong, diverse team that shares a common goal.  That’s why I’m thrilled to have the support of these important organizations (to see a full list of my endorsements, click here).

When I get up in the morning to do the tough work of campaigning, these folks have my back. They are committed to our joint vision, and most importantly, they know I will work effectively towards our common goals after I am elected.

I am proud of my years of experience with coalition work, and especially proud of the work I have done in advocacy coalitions to advance legislation for public health, education, and the environment here in Maryland.

This newest coalition will be working together towards victory on election day (September 14), and long after. Our goal? To ensure experienced, principled leadership in District 16, so we can recognize our vision for Maryland’s future.

 Will you join us?

After working with Ariana at NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland, I know what a fantastic coalition-builder she is. She develops fantastic rapport with her colleagues, is a problem-solver, and is great at identifying fair compromises. Judging from all of the endorsements she's lined up, these groups know she's going to bring some fantastic skills with her to Annapolis too!

Congratulations on all of these endorsements, Ariana...especially Equality Maryland! Back when we were both working in Annapolis, it was so great to strategize, share resources, and look at the intersection of all the important progressive issues that motivate us.

I am not surprised for one moment that you have been endorsed by so many, highly respected and diverse organizations. Working in coalition with you to create a healthy environment for women, children, and communities, I have seen first hand your ability to talk honestly, connect authentically, and move forward an aggressive policy agenda! As Delegate, I'll know you'll use your many years of experience to advance legislation for public health, education, and the environment.
