National Women’s Rights Leaders Endorse Ariana Kelly for Delegate

Kelly is A Proven Leader and Lifelong Women’s Rights Advocate 

Ariana Kelly today announced the support of national and Maryland women’s rights leaders in her race for Delegate in Maryland’s District 16.  

Kelly made the announcement in honor of Women’s Equality Day, which commemorates the passage 90 years ago of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote.

Leaders including NARAL Pro-Choice America President Nancy Keenan, Women’s Campaign Forum President Siobahn “Sam” Bennett, and MomsRising Executive Director Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner voiced their strong support for the District 16 candidate.

Kelly has been a longtime professional advocate for women’s rights. A nonprofit executive, she has committed her career to promoting policies to advance the rights of women and families and to ensuring financial stability for women’s organizations.

Kelly’s career includes service at such women’s organizations as Girls Inc,. NOW Legal Defense, and NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland. She is a former Board Member of NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland PAC, NOW New York City, and the Democratic Women’s PAC of Maryland.

Ariana Kelly is also proud to be endorsed by many other public interest groups and community leaders.

Her supporters include the Montgomery County Education Association, Maryland State Education Association, Sierra Club, Maryland League of Conservation Voters,Equality Maryland, SEIU Local 500, MCPS Retirees Association, Montgomery Women, and Montgomery County NOW.  Del. Jeff Waldstreicher (D-18), Del. Kathleen Dumais (D-15), former Senator Mary Boergers and former Senator Sharon Grosfeld have also endorsed Kelly.  

Ariana Kelly is running for an open delegate seat in the 16th District, which covers Bethesda, Brookmont, Cabin John, Friendship Heights, Glen Echo, North Bethesda, Somerset, and portions of Potomac and Rockville.  Kelly lives in Bethesda with her husband Barak and their two children, Maeve and Leo.  She has spent her career effectively advocating on the issues most important to Montgomery County families.
